The central idea of my concentration is the anatomy of the body through an artist's' perspective. The human body can be comprised of so many shapes, sizes, patterns, and values. My concentration explored the human muscle structure's various positions, body languages, and ability to evoke feelings. I primarily decided to do nudes because of the association of nudes and vulnerability. By "taking off" the protective coverings of the human body, clothes, the human body becomes simplistic but naturally beautiful. Image 12, opposite from Image 1, shows this vulnerability through the way she is covering and shielding certain aspects or her body. Image 9 depicts the unfortunate truth of morphed body images, anorexia being a result of those socially established ideals. The human body is a fascinating and a challenging work of art. My concentration changed simplistic muscles and values to open vulnerability and elicited thoughts and feelings through body language and various muscle structures.
